Rotary Platforms.

Agritech Engineering & it's founding company Hotter Engineering have been involved in the manufacture of rotary milking platforms since their invention in 1969.
We have focused on the continual development of the platforms since this time & have invested heavily in developing intergrated systems to offer a comprehensive range of Rotary Milking Platforms to fill every need from the small Family Owned Farm through to Large Corporate Operations.

Platform Sizes

Platforms are available in standard sizes through the whole range.
Sizes are : 36, 40, 44, 50, 54, 60, 70, 80, 100 Bail Units. Custom platforms up to 106 bail

Deck Options

    There are 3 types of platform offered.
  1. Steel Deck - Painted chequer plate
  2. SUPERDEK - Corrosion resistant alloy tread plate
  3. Concrete Deck - Brush finished 40mpa high grade concrete.

Drench Walkway Options

    There are 2 options for drench walkways
  1. 700mm walkway for standard applications
  2. 1200mm walkway for meal feeding & drenching applications

Platform Design

All platforms are Open Centre, Monoslope design .
The Roller & Driving systems are similar in design for all platform types.
The Roller Pedestals are fixed to the concrete foundation & a Universal Beam drive track rotates on top of the rollers.
This forms the basis of the platform which is prefabricated in our Factory & assembled on site to exacting standards.

Concrete Deck Platform

The platform consists of 100mm of high strength, reinforced 40mpa concrete poured in situ & finished to an appropriate surface.
The substructure is galvanized mild steel and electro galvanized high tensile steel which is site welded to provide platform rigidity.
Bail construction is of pipe which is Hot Dip Galvanized after all welding is complete. Provision is made in the bail for fitting of ACR systems.
Drive Unit(s) use hot dip galvanized frame with electronic speed control feed to 0.75kW motor/gearboxes. Two gearboxes per drive unit provide direct drive to two rubber drive wheels.
One drive unit is required for all platforms to 60 bail with 2 units required on 70 & 80 bail platforms.
Steel Deck Platform  
The platform consists of a mild steel tread plate which is Sandblasted to SA2.5 and primed with an epoxy zinc based Primer in the factory. Once all welding has been completed The platform is painted with an epoxy 2 pot paint system to Seal all joints and provide a durable, long life finish to the deck

Substructure is painted mild steel all fully welded to ensure Rigidity Bails are all hot dip galvanized after construction.
Drive units are same design as concrete deck but use 0.55kW motors.

SUPERDEK™ Platform  
SUPERDEK Platform The platform deck is constructed of 3CR12 alloy tread plate which has the same corrosion resistant properties as stainless steel.
The outside edge is formed from grade 304 stainless steel.
All welding is done using 308 stainless which is polished at the completion of the process.
Substructure , Bails and Drive the same as Steel Deck.
   

Platform Rollers

All pedestals for platform rollers are hot dip galvanized after fabrication to provide corrosion resistance and long service life.

Rollers are precision machined on our Victor CNC lathe from medium tensile, high carbon shaft or 1045 grade bright steel. Machining tolerances of .01mm enhance roller and bearing life.

All rollers are tapered to reduce contact friction and drag.

All rollers are adjustable for :
  • Camber ( Level )
  • Caster ( Orientation with centre of platform )
  • Height

These adjustments allow the rollers to be set up to exacting standards

Side locating rollers are fitted to every second roller.
